Welcome to Bairnsdale Secondary College
Bairnsdale Secondary College sits on the land of the Brabralung people on Gunaikurnai Country. The College remains the largest provider of education in East Gippsland, with a climbing enrolment of approximately 1200 students. The College is taking an increased percentage of students from the local catchment and beyond, with approximately half of the student population residing within the township of Bairnsdale, with the remainder travelling from surrounding areas in East Gippsland.
There are three Hubs within the College, Wargomerrin is the Year 7 Hub, Wurrin is for Year 8 and 9 and Malgobila is for Years 10, 11 and 12. Each Hub has a student management and support team. There are a further 25 VCAL students at the Ngooloo site, an alternative program off-campus.
The College has a strong focus on wellbeing with a team of experienced professionals available to support the wellbeing of our students.
Alongside our Koorie Engagement Team the College works in partnership with the Clontarf Academy, with a goal of improving participation of Koorie males and the Smith Family - Girls at the Centre, to provide a program for Koorie Girls.
Technology, Humanities, Maths, Science, Arts and Sport are prominent across the curriculum and we have a highly respected Instrumental Music Program with high-level music tuition for students.
The College provides the community with an outstanding educational facility and looks forward to working with the community to enhance educational opportunities for students in Bairnsdale and surrounding districts.
